ABSTRAK
Disease can transmitted through many ways, among by contact directly or indirectly with the skin. Public facilities such as public internet (Warnet) enable to transfer pathogenic microbia from one to another by part on computer that always used, called keyboard. The aim of this research is to know the density and diversity of bacterya on keyboard computer public internet (Warnet). The method of this research including sampling 6 units keyboard computer in 3 different location public internet (Warnet). Sampling carried out by swabbing on keyboard’s surface and then counting the density of bacteria by plate count (CFU/cm2). After that, isolation and purification carried out to each colony that grow, then characterized and identified. Characterization include of observe the colony’s morphology (shape, colour, edge, elevation, and inside structure), cell’s morphology, the present of endospora, gram staining, and catalase. After each colony have characterized, then identification carried out by profile matching method based on Bergey’s Manual of Determinative Bacteriology (1994). The result show that average density of bactery on keyboard computer public internet (Warnet) is 9,26 x 1010 CFU/cm2. Based on characterization and identification, 28 isolate presumed a member of genus Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Flavobacterium, Micrococcus, Dermabacter, Rothia, Bacillus, Propionibacterium, Corynebacterium, and Brevibacterium. The conclution of this research is the density of bactery on keyboard computer is 9,26 x 1010 CFU/cm2. Genera of bactery that presumed on keyboard computer of public internet which is pathogenic are Streptococcus and Staphylococcus.
Keywords : Bactery, keyboard, density, diversity, public internet (Warnet).
